The vine inheritance
A few kilometres from the bustle of Reims and Epernay, Bernard Remy Champagne, created over 50 years ago by Bernard Remy himself, sets itself apart with its determined spirit. The family transforms its grapes into champagne in the little village of Allemant on the Côte des Blancs.
The origin of the Allemant vineyard
In 1968, Bernard Remy purchased his first vines in the village. He was selling his first cuvées on the French market a few years later.
In 1983, he decided to build a real cellar to make his own wine and thereby become the "master" of his production. Wishing to enlarge his vineyard, in 1986 he purchased three extra hectares, tripling his production. The cellar was now too narrow to store this exceptional bubbly and he enlarged it in 1990, 1997 and more recently in 2008, thus allowing the bottles to age in the best conditions and letting time accomplish his creation.
Passed on from father to son
His son Rudy arrived on the holding in 1996 and took over the firm in 2008, but Bernard is never far away.
The discrete family firm has always seen its turnover gradually and regularly increase thanks to its customers' word to mouth.
Champagne & export
With the strength of its experience on the French market, in 2002, the firm took on the challenge of the international markets. Starting in Belgium and Germany, the firm gradually conquered the European markets through the quality of its wines, its consistency and above all its ability to adapt to the most complex requirements. The firm is now turning to major exports, with a strong presence in Europe and some successes throughout the world such as in Asia, North America and Latin America.
